The Cherry Barn is a stunning wedding venue in Rye, East Sussex. The barn is a large, open space with lots of natural light, it's located on a 400 acre working farm with an orchard and beautiful views. It's an exclusive use venue with 48 hour dry hire so you're able to set up the day before the wedding.
Getting Ready
The White Room is available for you to use for getting ready in the morning. It would be ideal for a small bridal party or groomsmen. You can also use this room as a space for children to play and relax during the wedding day or it can be used as a green room for your suppliers / band. If you need a bigger space to get ready in there are lots of hotels and airbnbs close by in Rye.
Ceremonies
The Cherry Barn has three options for your ceremony; inside the barn, outside under the wooden gazebo or in the meadow. Inside the barn is ideal for winter weddings, it's also great to have the option of an indoor ceremony for peace of mind as the english weather can be unpredictable. The gazebo is a gorgeous backdrop for an outdoor wedding with your guests seated on the grass and views of the orchard behind. The meadow is great for couples who want an outdoorsy / boho style wedding as you'll be in the fields surrounded by oak trees. Alternatively, if you want a religious ceremony there is a church very close by; St Peter and St Paul in Peasemarsh.
Confetti
As it's a working barn you will need to use real petals or biodegradable paper confetti. If you're getting married outside you could do your confetti as you walk back down the aisle or if you're getting married inside you can get everyone lined up outside.
Drinks Reception
The Cherry Barn has plenty of space for your drinks reception with the patio and grass area. The grass is perfect for garden games if you wanted to have some entertainment for your guests. There is no corkage for the drinks reception or wedding breakfast so you are able to bring your own / use a bar service through your caterers. If you're not using the gazebo for your ceremony you could use this space as a chill out area by adding some furniture (the sofas in the photo below are from Locate to Create).
Couple Photos + Group Photos
Behind the barn is a gravel path and the orchard, this is the perfect place for your photos. The orchard is a gorgeous backdrop for couple portraits, it the spring it's cherry blossom and in the summer the apples come out. It's also a great spot for some fun wedding party group shots as there's an open space just behind the barn. The also have a white bridge which is very cute. The meadow just past the car park is amazing at sunset with the long grass.
Reception
Your reception will be held on one side of the barn, the other side is used for the dance floor which means you won't have to pack away tables and turn the room around for the evening. The Cherry Barn have a fully equipped kitchen avaiable for your caterers to use, they also have space outside if you want food trucks. The barn can seat up to 200 guests but equally works well for smaller weddings.
Evening Reception
The Cherry Barn has a large dance floor for your evening reception. There is space for a band or DJ just behind the dance floor. There is a fully stocked bar for you to use in the evening or you can supply your own for a corkage fee. If you wanted a food truck for your evening food there is plenty of space behing the barn just outside the doors to the dance floor. They have fire pits on the patio outside and they allow sparklers if you wanted to do a sparkler exit.
Accommodation & Parking
As you can see on the map below, there is a large space for parking (marked 6). There is an area for glamping in the fields (marked 7)and plenty of hotels and airbnbs close by in Rye and Peasemarsh.
